Treppchen, Germany – $30/375ml

*Tasted at the Anderlonis/Rediker wedding in Chatham, paired with Foie Gras Panna Cotta, Concord Grape Gelee, Toasted Brioche, and Peanut Butter Powder.  Of the vinified sweet wines I’ve had, this has to be among the best.  This is a Riesling ice wine, to be served very chilled.  And I must say that if the Foie Gras were my peanut butter, I’d definitely choose this for my jelly.  It was a perfect pair.  The nose carried lifted notes of cocoa and mulled cranberries, while the flavors seemed to exemplify caramel and strawberry jam.  Very stout, but very drinkable. 9.0
